Today Maribel has introduced the
point 1.5.: The Common European Framework of Reference. Then we have
discussed about the five competences: writing, listening, speaking, reading
and interaction (which was introduced by the CEFR). Also, we have been
learning a bit about “Aims and objectives of Council of Europe language
policy”, “What is plurilingualism?”, “Approach adopted”, “General competences
of an individual”, “Social conventions" and “The common reference levels”. At
the end of the class, our teacher talked us about a web site called Council
of Europe which she used to explain us the “European English Portfolio”.
Moreover, it´s been a hard class but it seemed shorter
because of the way Maribel explained the points and her TPR strategies. Also, I consider really interesting her comments and life experiences. For example, when
Maribel talked about the importance of knowing social conventions if we go abroad,
because in other countries is forbidden to teachers to touch children. However,
I also love how she tries to explain the reasons why she is teaching us the
content. For example, today she said to us she wasn´t going to oblige us to
read CEFR, but she advised us to know about it, because it´s a really useful
tool for teachers.
To sum up, in this
class we have been introduced into many topics. Therefore, I have learnt
important information, for example: I can be a B2 en some competences and a C1 in
others when I use a foreign language. Moreover, I´m going to take into account
the CEFR to get ideas in future activities.
