First of all, Maribel dedicated this session to explain the European Language Portfolio, a tool which was developed by the European
Framework. Then she exposed some methodologies and techniques, such as asking
children “What do you want to know about your town?”, and taking advantage of
the things children are interested in. Other materials we were working on were:
choosing a color to select a topic ,
the way Maribel introduced the song “One, two, three, four, five, I caught a
fish alive…) based on listening, repeating and gestures. After that, our
teacher talked about “My first portfolio” for Pre-primary education and the
first and second curse of Primary education. Finally, we discovered the web
page of the European Portfolio of Languages.
I think it was a class with similar characteristics
than the preview classes of Maribel. So, sometimes it was hard to follow the
class, but Maribel gave her everything to keep us concentrated and active.
Summarizing, Maribel has taught us interesting things
about the European Portfolio, like the material we can download from its web
page. Also, if I discover there is a play that
students love, I can use it in punctual situations to get their attention (as
she do with the “zombies” play).
